Ocean Youth Program

Roatan’s youth lead the way in coral restoration in 2023. We were thrilled in January to welcome and support the training of seven teenagers as our first generation of Coral Restoration Ambassadors. Our goal for these amazing young people is to help them become active leaders in current and future efforts to protect and restore our reefs. During their time with us, they are learning about marine conservation and coral reproduction as well as becoming certified open and advanced divers. Once they are certified, we’ll provide them with opportunities for research and part-time work in which they accompany RMP team members in their monitoring, assisted fertilization, and coral nursery maintenance efforts.
