Francis Lean is an environmental science professional with a Master’s degree in urban environmental management from Wageningen University and the Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies in the Netherlands. Recently, Francis provided consulting and technical services to local industries to solve regulatory, environmental, and safety issues. Previously as a senior management member for a large US government contractor, she led multinational teams working in hostile and difficult environments throughout Africa and Latin America. Francis enjoys unique challenges and adventures, having summited the Roof of Africa, Kilimanjaro in 2010, and has traveled Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas extensively. Although, Francis enjoys many outdoor activities, her greatest passion is the big blue ocean. She is a certified divemaster, conservation volunteer and is committed to protecting coral reefs, marine environments as well as the local communities’ wellbeing.
